DHIS2 platform development
Fall 2022

DHIS2 is an open-source software platform developed in collaboration between the HISP Centre at the University of Oslo (UiO) and the 23 local groups in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas that make up the HISP network. During my time at UiO, I had the opportunity to develop within the DHIS2 platform in a collaborative group project. Through this, I gained further experience with:

  • ..using a design system both when prototyping in Figma and later when developing with ReactJS.
  • ..carrying out API queries and displaying them in an aesthetic and organised manner.
  • ..appropriating existing code to develop in an established platform ecosystem (as opposed to starting from scratch which can often be prevalent in self-initiated projects).
